Life is More Than Just Surviving

Do you survive or do you thrive? Life is more than mere survival.
Life is more than mere survival. Maya Angelou said survival is important. Thriving is elegant. Be elegant.

Surviving is important. Thriving is elegant.

Who is Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou was an American poet and writer. I didn’t know that. I only knew of her as an actress and she was in a handful of movies and TV shows.

Surviving is Important.

Of course surviving is important. We all have the same basic needs to meet each day – food and water in our bellies and a warm, dry place to sleep at night.
There are places in the world where that is a real struggle every day.
There are many more places where survival isn’t a struggle but people are still content with mere survival. I know of several people in my area who are content to sit back and complain about their lot in life as long as they have enough money for their cigarettes, lottery tickets and to keep their cable TV on.

Life is More Than Mere Survival

If your basic needs are met each day then why be content with just that? I want to do much more than just scratch out a living.
My life is about living it my way and thriving.
I consider myself very fortunate. I’ve never gone a day without food and water and the only time I don’t have a roof over my head at night is when I go camping.
That isn’t a good reason to sit back and be content though. Instead, I see it as a solid foundation on which I can thrive.
I get to build my network marketing business so that I can work from home and be with my kids. I home school them and get to take an active part in raising them unlike most dads who have to go away to work every day. We hike during the week and see what the real world looks like while most people stay indoors all day.
