Who is Abraham-Hicks?

Abraham is a group of non-physical entities channeled by Esther Hicks. (affiliate link) They teach topics related to the law of attraction through live events and several published books.
Actually Abraham doesn’t appear to be exclusive because I know someone else who said she channels Abraham from time-to-time too.
I first learned about Esther and Abraham in The Secret. They were one of the featured teachers in the original version but chose not to participate in the second version and the book.

Choose Your Own Reality

The whole idea behind the law of attraction is that you attract into your experience based on your thoughts. How you feel at any given time, your emotions, give you feedback about how well your thoughts line up with what you want. That’s the Abraham-Hicks teaching in a nutshell.
Thoughts constantly race through your mind. Like me, you tried meditation and found it very difficult because of all the noise in your head. If you work at it, you can finally quiet the self-talk but you can’t stop the thoughts that pop up.
And you don’t want to really. You want to “see” those thoughts. They may be the inspiration you need to create the reality you want.
The challenge is that you usually latch onto the negative thought instead of the positive one. Then your self-talk and emotions kick in and begin to give it some energy.
Now it’s almost a real thing inside your head. It’s a real part of your inner experience and then it manifests as a part of your outer experience.

Fix It. Choose the Positive Instead

That is how the manifesting process works. You only need to change one thing. Choose the positive thought instead of the negative one.
It’s easier said than done.
You’re programmed to latch onto the negative thought:

  • TV
  • movies
  • news
  • popular music
  • books

They call it programming for a reason.
But you can change it. You can still watch TV, just make better choices.

  • Instead of Married with Children you can watch Mad About You
  • Instead of The Simpson you can watch Full (or Fuller) House

I don’t watch much TV so I had to go with older TV shows that I know and make excellent examples of what I mean. The Simpsons and Fuller House are both current.

The Bottom Line

You choose your own reality. Choose positive thoughts that match the reality you want to experience. Pay attention to your emotions and how you feel because they help you keep track of what you are actually attracting. Be more selective about the programming that you subject yourself to so that you can focus on the positive more easily.
