Do you know the power of the subconscious mind?
The Subconscious mind can not tell the difference between what’s real and what’s imagined.
– Bob Proctor
Yes, another Bob Proctor quote.
What is the Power of the Subconscious Mind?
Consciously using the law of attraction is all about programming your subconscious mind, because your subconscious mind is always using the law of attraction.
“Using the law of attraction” is not the right way to say it. You don’t get up in the morning and say to yourself “I think I’ll use the law of gravity today.” You always use the law of gravity. You have no choice.
The choice is in consciously using it to your benefit. When you stack boxes in your storage space you put the heavy ones on the bottom and the lighter ones on top.
The law of attraction is the same way. It’s always working, so you can’t get around it or decide to turn it off. You can only decide to consciously use it for your benefit or not.
According to the law of attraction, your dominant thoughts are what you attract. Your subconscious mind runs that program.
So you consciously program your subconscious mind to think what you want it to think.
How Do You Program Your Subconscious Mind?
If you study personal development and/or the law of attraction, then you already know the answer to this.
Some people like affirmations or some form of positive statement they can repeat over and over. Your subconscious mind lets you know what your dominant thoughts are. It’s in that talk track that runs through your head all day. It’s the mind chatter that you try to silence when you meditate.
With affirmations you try to replace any negative mind chatter with the positive message that you choose. Try to get some emotion going when you work with your affirmations. How does it feel to be happy, healthy and wise?
The more emotion you get into it, the closer it comes to visualization, which is even more powerful. With visualization you paint a picture in your mind of what you want to create. Get all of your senses involved.
You want a new car, so imagine yourself in the car. You’re sitting in the driver’s seat looking out the window. What do you see? Your hands are wrapped around the steering wheel. How does it feel? What does the inside of the car smell like? What do you hear as you turn the key in the ignition?
The more real you can make it in your imagination, the better. That’s visualization.
Your Subconscious Mind Doesn’t Know the Difference
Like Bob Proctor’s quote said, your subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between what you vividly image and what is real. The more real you imagine it, the more convincing it is to your subconscious mind.
Then your subconscious mind changes its thought track around that topic. For years you’ve been telling yourself you will never have a nice car, so that is what you programmed you subconscious mind with and is what it’s been repeating. Keep that in mind. It’s probably going to take longer than a week or a month to change that programming.
