I read over and over that we should never ask for money when using the Law of Attraction to manifest our desires. It came up again while I was reading last night.
Money is nothing more than a means of exchange. Life doesn’t depend on it because everything can come to you without you having to have money. You can design a life that leaves you happy and fulfilled whether you have money or not.
A month ago I wrote about a manifestation game that I play with my family and how we take pictures and put them on a family vision board. The vision board is great because it sits out all the time where everyone can see it, but I spend a lot of time on my computer, so having something on my computer screen can be very helpful as well.
I’ve been writing recently about the things that I am doing to get back into the space of consciously manifesting my experiences. One of those things is writing in my gratitude journal every night before falling asleep.
There are many reasons why writing in a gratitude journal, especially just before falling asleep, makes good sense.
Gratitude, whether written, spoken, or just thought, puts you into a positive vibration. It is impossible to be in a bad mood while feeling gratitude. Everything I have read, studied and experienced says that you attract your dominant vibration, so the more you feel grateful, the more things and experiences you will attract to be grateful for. If you feel your mood slipping during the day then take a moment and think of a couple of things to be grateful for.
In my last post I shared with you about how I realized I got way off track from consciously manifesting what I want to experience and what I have started to do to get back in line. In addition to the Abraham exercise and vision board that I talked about last time, I have also started using an assisted meditation program that I have used on and off for the past several years called Holosync.
Holosync was created by Centerpointe Research Institute, Inc., which was founded by Bill Harris, who was one of the teachers in the movie The Secret. In the movie he talks about a client who was being harassed by co-workers and struggling to be successful. With some coaching and mental reprogramming he was finally able to change his experience and achieve his success. If you haven’t seen the movie, I highly recommend it.
Over the past year and a half I have allowed myself to get off track, way off track actually, with what I want to manifest in my experience. I woke up again about a month and a half ago, realized what I had allowed to happen, and began rearranging what I was doing.
The first thing that my wife and I started to do was an exercise that we read about several years ago in Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks. In this exercise you create an imaginary checking account. On the first day you deposit $1,000 into the account and you have “spend” all of that money by the end of the day. Then on the second day you deposit $2,000 and have to spend all, or most, of it.
There are many manifestation techniques in the personal development world to help you create the life you want. Visualization and affirmations are both very popular choices.
I don’t think the technique or tool itself really matters much. The important thing is to be in the energy of having already created what it is that you want to manifest. Affirmations are enough for some people while other people need images. If you can get into that space by visualizing what it is like to have it right now, then that’s great. If you want to cut out pictures and paste them on a vision board, then do that. Just make sure that you are in that space of already having it right now, not sometime in the future.
Conflict and the emotions that conflict causes are probably the biggest things that keep us from living bigger lives and advancing to the next level as a society. Conflict keeps us so busy battling each other that we don’t have the time or energy to work on making ourselves better.
With this being an election year, the biggest conflict we see on a daily basis is Obama vs. Romney or Democrat vs. Republican. There are a lot of people who invest a lot of their energy into this conflict and you can see it all over Facebook. It’s absolutely insane.
We’re also in college football season and that provides another great example – sports rivalries. I went to school at Georgia Tech where your favorite teams are expected to be Georgia Tech (of course) and whoever is playing against the University of Georgia. Some people invest so much of their energy into these sports rivalries. I think we would be amazed at what could happen if they reinvested half of that energy on improving their lives instead.
I don’t think competition is a bad thing because it can be a very good thing if used properly. Doing your best and encouraging your teammates to do their best are things that improve everyone. The competition has to end with the game though.
I was a NASCAR fan and I think the 1998 Daytona 500 is a perfect example of how a contest should end. Through out the race every driver is doing their best to win the race and Dale Earnhardt won. When he drove his car onto the pit road the crews from many of the other teams were lined up to congratulate him on his way to the victory circle. I’d never seen that happen before and it was amazing.
There are many other forms of conflict that affect us every day, like man vs woman, Christian vs Muslim vs Hindu vs Wiccan vs … Have any of these conflicts ever improved any lives? I mean other than those who know how to capitalize on them to make a dollar? I don’t think so.
Instead of conflict and all of the emotions attached to conflict, feel love and respect. You will feel better and so will everyone else. You can test it right now. Think of a conflict that you participate in – the upcoming election, a college rivalry, whatever. Bring up the emotions that you feel when something goes against your team or for the other team. You can feel the negative energy. Now let that go and replace it with love or respect, like for a well-executed play. Now you can feel the positive energy of a good emotion. You will probably notice that this feels a lot better than the feelings of conflict.
Work on doing that every day, replacing conflict with love and respect. It won’t be long before it becomes a habit and you will generally feel a lot more positive than you do now.
I’m re-reading the Master Key System by Charles F. Haanel and found this quote in part 3.
It is well to remember that it is not necessary to outline the method by which the subconscious will produce the results you desire. The finite cannot inform the Infinite. You are simply to say what you desire, not how you are to obtain it.
When I decide to create something new in my life through the Law of Attraction I need only to focus on what I want, not on how I’m going to get it. If I decide on exactly how I’m going to get want I want I will immediately cut off every other way that it could possibly appear.
In his Notes From the Universe, Mike Dooley often says that we should not worry about the “cursed hows”.
The tendency to settle upon a cursed how as a means to achieve a particular goal, is simply a sign that you’ve momentarily forgotten how unlimited, creative, and powerful I am, and that I tirelessly conspire on your behalf when you leave me every option.
Let me loose,
By focusing on how something is to manifest limits the magic that the Universe or God can create in your life. By simply focusing on what it is that you want, the Universe or God can bring it to you more quickly and more magnificently than you could possibly imagine on your own.
Here’s another way to look at it. Through personal development with the Law of Attraction you are working to remove the limitations that you have created in your life. By focusing on how something will manifest in your life creates all sorts of limitation.
That doesn’t mean that you should just sit on your couch, imagine how you want your life to appear, then do nothing. Let’s say that I want to attract a new car. As someone said in The Secret, the Universe likes action. If you are a religious person you can say “God helps those who help themselves.” So I’m going to get started with what I know and look for ways to increase my income through my business.
I’m also going to keep myself open to other things that may show up. Maybe a local car dealership is running contest. Maybe a relative will have a reason to give me the car. Maybe my current car will get totaled in the mall parking lot and the insurance money will get me the new car. It will probably come in some way that I can’t think of.

The word of the day on Minute With Maxwell yesterday was mindset. As he explained it, your mindset is what you set your mind to.
What have you set your mind on?
I don’t think most people realize how powerful their mindset is, or what they really put their mind on all day. If they did I bet they’d change it in a heartbeat.
The current presidential politics season here in the US is a great example. I watch the posts from the people I follow on Facebook. Most of what I see are the people on one side saying how bad Romney is and on the other side saying how bad Obama is. Nobody is talking about how great their preferred candidate is. Their minds are all set on how bad the other guy is.
I have worked on improving my awareness of what I’m thinking and how it affects my experience. If I see my business slow down a little and become fixated on it, it stays slow. As soon as I can get myself to let go of the idea that things are slow it picks right back up.
Likewise, when I focus on the things that are going right, my mindset is on the positive stuff, things just keep getting better. My business through July has been a perfect example of this.
Practice staying aware of what you are thinking. When you catch yourself being or thinking negative, look for something positive to put your mind on. See how different things can be for you.
